Inter-University digital content creation competition concludes on World Radio Day

An Inter-University Digital Content Creation Competition, organized to mark World Radio Day, successfully concluded here on Thursday.
The event was jointly arranged by Riphah International University’s Riphah Institute of Media Sciences and Radio Pakistan Rawalpindi, with active participation from students of various universities across the twin cities.
The closing ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor Riphah International University Professor Dr. Anis Ahmad, Director Programs Radio Pakistan Ms. Masarrat Sharrukh, Station Director Radio Pakistan Rawalpindi Atif along with his team, besides faculty members, media professionals, and a large number of students.
Addressing the gathering, Head of Department Riphah Institute of Media Sciences Dr. Riaz Adil termed Radio Pakistan a national asset, highlighting its vital role in promoting national identity and cohesion.
He expressed pride in Riphah International University for hosting the event on World Radio Day and congratulated the winning students, stating that the creative potential of youth is the guarantee of a brighter future for the country.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Anis Ahmad shed light on the historical and social significance of radio, recalling its role before and after the creation of Pakistan.
He emphasized that radio has consistently served as the voice of the people, contributing to national unity and public awareness. He urged students to recognize the importance of radio even in the digital era and to promote responsible communication. He also reaffirmed Riphah University’s commitment to continued collaboration with Radio Pakistan in the future.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Programs Radio Pakistan Ms. Masarrat Sharrukh said that radio remains Pakistan’s strongest and most effective communication medium.
She appreciated the collaboration between Riphah Institute of Media Sciences and Radio Pakistan Rawalpindi, noting that such initiatives encourage young people to adopt positive and constructive use of media.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, performance-based certificates were distributed among students who demonstrated outstanding achievements in the competition.
