A ceremony to give free pink electric scooters to women will be held on March 8 in Karachi on the occasion of International Women’s Day. In this regard, Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said this initiative of the Sindh government is part of the plan to provide safe, independent and environmentally friendly travel facilities to women. The Pink Electric Scooters Programme is also an important link in this chain, said Sharjeel Memon.
Sharjeel Memon said under the programme, selected women will be given electric scooters while they will also be provided with training in road safety and scooter riding.
He said the Pink Electric Scooters Programme will play an important role in making women’s autonomy and mobility easier. The project will increase women’s autonomy and also help in promoting environmentally friendly transport, Sharjeel Memon said. He said the Sindh government is determined to introduce such projects in the future as well.
