The residents of Gambat, a suburb of Mardan, have demanded an investigation into the brutal murder and desecration of the body of Sajjad khan, threatening that if they do not get justice, they will protest.
The deceased’s father Parvez Khan, brother Shams al-Qamar and local residents said that the deceased Sajjad Khan used to work as a laborer in Gujranwala.
We filed a missing person’s report at the local police station, but the police, adopting traditional tactics, did not take any interest.
Later, his body was recovered in several pieces from the Misri banda Nowshera. During this time, the police arrested a boy of our village, Asim son of Akhtar, who confessed to the murder, but he is of the opinion that he only shot the victim.
The relatives of the victim expressed complete disbelief on the police investigation, saying that apart from cutting off the hands and feet of the victim, his eyes and kidneys were also removed, so they should be investigated from this aspect as well and all the accused involved in this brutal murder were arrested.
He demanded from the Chief Minister, IG Police and DIG Mardan to form a special team to investigate this heinous murder and conduct an impartial investigation and provide justice to them.
