Police arrested three suspects, including an accused wanted in snatching and theft cases, during a search and strike operation in different areas falling under the Sardheri police station, officials said on Sunday.
The operation was conducted on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Waqas Khan under the supervision of DSP Sardheri Shad Ali Khan and SHO Fazal Daud Khan. Personnel from the Quick Response Force (QRF), Rapid Response Force (RRF), lady police and other police units took part in the operation. Police said raids were carried out at various suspected hideouts, leading to the arrest of a suspect wanted in snatching and theft cases. Stolen cash amounting to Rs70,000 was recovered from his possession.
Two other suspects wanted in a serious criminal case were also arrested. In addition, eight suspects were detained for questioning during the operation.
Police also recovered a pistol along with ammunition from the possession of one of the suspects.
During the operation, police verified 10 vehicles and 12 individuals through the Vehicle Verification System (VVS) and Criminal Record Verification System (CRVS).
Police said operations against criminal elements would continue to maintain law and order and ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
