Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisor to the Chief Minister for Social Welfare, Zakat and Ushr, Special Education and Women Empowerment Malik Liaqat Ali Khan has directed officials to launch a province-wide door-to-door data collection drive to identify persons with disabilities, transgender persons, orphan children, deserving families, women and other vulnerable segments of society.
He issued the directives during a meeting with Director of Merged Districts Arshad Barki and the deputy director at his office, where officials briefed him on social welfare activities, public service delivery in the merged districts and preparations for the Data Collection Campaign 2026.
The advisor directed officials to hold meetings with local parliamentarians in all districts and, with their cooperation, constitute special committees and field teams to conduct the data collection exercise.
He said the process must be carried out according to the department’s approved proforma to ensure comprehensive and accurate information about vulnerable and deserving people.

He said reliable and comprehensive data would provide a basis for designing more effective welfare programmes and support initiatives, ensuring that government assis tance and facilities reached genuinely deserving people in a transparent manner.
The advisor said provision of social protection and welfare services to residents of the merged districts remained among the government’s top priorities. He directed the concerned officers to strengthen their field presence and utilise all available resources to address public grievances and provide maximum relief to the people.
