Provincial Minister for Public Health Engineering Fazal Shakoor Khan has directed officials to expedite ongoing water supply and sanitation schemes in Abbottabad and ensure their timely completion without compromising on quality.
He issued the directives while chairing a key meeting on water supply and sanitation projects in Abbottabad on Monday, said a handout.
The statement said the Executive Engineer briefed the minister on both ongoing and proposed schemes.
The meeting reviewed progress on current water supply and sanitation schemes in the district, it added.
Mr Khan said provision of clean and safe drinking water to the public was the top priority of the government. He stressed that identification of new projects should be based on public needs and population requirements.
“There will be no compromise on transparency and quality in water supply and sanitation projects,” the minister said, adding that all schemes must be completed within the stipulated timeframe and as per approved standards.
Officials were also directed to maintain strict monitoring to ensure effective service delivery to citizens.
