JCI Enterprise accreditation earns Shifa benchmark for trusted, safe, and evidence-based healthcare

In a landmark achievement for healthcare in Pakistan and the region, Shifa International Hospitals has reached an extraordinary milestone in its journey towards excellence, patient safety, and internationally recognized quality of care. With multiple Shifa organizations and clinical programs earning recognition through the Joint Commission International (JCI), Shifa is setting a powerful new benchmark for trusted, safe, and evidence-based healthcare.
At the heart of this achievement is Shifa Enterprise, whose JCI Enterprise accreditation represents Shifa’s promise that excellence in care will not be confined to a single facility or service, but reflected consistently across the entire Shifa ecosystem. It reinforces the commitment to embedding uniform standards of quality, patient safety, and clinical excellence across every Shifa facility and every point of care.
The historic significance of this achievement is further strengthened by the JCI Medical Transport accreditation of Shifa Ambulance Service (SAS), which has become the first ambulance service in Pakistan to be accredited by JCI.
This unprecedented accomplishment marks a major milestone for emergency medical and pre-hospital care in the country and a moment of immense pride for Shifa and Pakistan’s healthcare community.
The SAS achievement demonstrates that the journey of quality and safety begins long before a patient reaches the hospital. And that every critical moment of care deserves the highest standards of professionalism, safety, coordination, and compassion.
These milestones build on Shifa International Hospitals’ accreditation as an Academic Medical Center (AMC) in June 2026. eShifa, Shifa’s home healthcare company, has also been recommended for JCI Home Care accreditation by JCI surveyors following a rigorous survey, extending Shifa’s commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care beyond hospital walls and into patients’ homes.
Shifa’s commitment to clinical excellence has also received international recognition, with its Acute Ischemic Stroke and Acute Coronary Syndrome programs both certified by JCI in June 2026, affirming its ability to deliver coordinated, standardized, evidence-based, and patient-centered care in some of the most complex and time-sensitive areas of medicine.
Collectively, these achievements represent far more than a series of accreditations and certifications. They represent a defining moment in promoting and strengthening the “Culture of Care” in Pakistan.
