LAHORE: A miscellaneous petition has been filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) against persistent hike in the prices of petroleum products. The petition said price of petrol was hiked by Rs 29.95 per liter during the period from September 7 to 11. The price of diesel also rose by Rs 25.27 per liter during five days. The petitioner has taken plea the price of petroleum products is being enhanced on daily basis in Pakistan due to which the price of diesel has surpassed Rs 400 per liter. Petition further said diesel in Pakistan is expensive by Rs 140, Rs 122, Rs 106 and Rs 77 as compared to Bangladesh, India, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka respectively. The court has been prayed to summon record of petroleum levy, tax and margin of marketing companies and dealers. ONLINE
