Healthcare institutions unite to make quality healthcare more accessible & affordable
With Pakistan’s healthcare system facing a continuing need for greater capacity, stronger professional training and more affordable access to quality care, leading healthcare institutions are looking beyond organizational boundaries to combine their strengths and create wider public benefit.
GAK HealthCare International, Islamabad Medical & Dental College (IMDC), Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH) and The Diabetes Centre (TDC) are exploring a long-term strategic partnership to connect academic, clinical and specialized healthcare expertise, strengthen medical education and technology, and help bring quality healthcare within reach of more communities across Pakistan.
The proposed collaboration would strengthen the linkage of medical education with clinical practice through professional training, knowledge sharing, technological advancement and greater institutional cooperation; bringing together capabilities that can complement one another and contribute to a more efficient and sustainable healthcare ecosystem.
The engagement took place during TDC’s symposium on Osteoporosis and inauguration of its DEXA Scan facility, where Yasir Khan Niazi, Group CEO, GAK HealthCare and IMDC, was the Chief Guest and Dr. Areej Neyazi, Director ANTH, was the Guest of Honor.
During the visit, Yasir Niazi and Dr. Areej, accompanied by Group Head of Communication GAK HealthCare Imran Ali Ghouri, held discussions with Dr. Asjad Hameed, Chairman TDC, Dr. Nuzhat Hameed, TDC Board Member, and the TDC management on developing the proposed long-term partnership.
Yasir Niazi said healthcare institutions must increasingly work beyond organizational boundaries to address the larger needs of the healthcare system.

As part of the symposium, Yasir Khan Niazi formally inaugurated TDC’s DEXA Scan facility, marking the launch of a specialized diagnostic service for bone-density assessment and supporting earlier detection and management of osteoporosis.
Dr. Asjad Hameed welcomed the proposed collaboration, noting that stronger institutional linkages can expand healthcare capacity and allow expertise and resources to translate into greater benefit for society.
