PESHAWAR:The political administration on Wednesday sacked 266 personnel of the Orakzai Levies Force. A notification issued by the political administration here stated that the Levies personnel had been sacked from the services under the sub-article IV of Article 17 of the Ministry of State and Frontier Regions (Safron) on reaching the age of 60 years.
The political administration said the sacked employees were not entitled to superannuation under the law.Meanwhile, the sacked employees criticised the political administration for the sacking them from services.
The sacked employees, including Murad Khan, Shakeel Khan, Jamal Hassan, Gul Taj and others, said that they were not served with any notice by the administration prior to the decision.
“We are just informed about the decision when we came to perform duty,” said Murad Khan. They lamented that they had been deprived of pension, which they termed an injustice with them and their families.
They said that the decision was tantamount to snatching morsel from the mouth of their children. The sacked employees asked Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and other authorities concerned to give them pension and recruit their family members in the force on their place.
