TAKHT BAHI: Despite Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s directives to provide maximum relief to the public during Ramadan by ensuring strict price control, the situation on the ground tells a different story. The Assistant Commissioner’s office in Takht Bhai appears ineffective in implementing the check-and-balance mechanism, allowing unchecked inflation and profiteering in the tehsil. Citizens continue to suffer as the prices of essential commodities, including flour, sugar, ghee, and vegetables, remain beyond their reach. The failure to enforce price regulations has led to growing frustration among the public, who have urged immediate action to curb hoarding and profiteering. Residents demand that the administration take Chief Minister Gandapur’s directives seriously and ensure effective price control measures to provide much-needed relief during the holy month. Markets are flooded with low-quality meat, stale vegetables, adulterated milk, and substandard dates, posing serious health risks to consumers. Despite numerous complaints, authorities have failed to take effective action, further emboldening profiteers in the various locations of the tehsil. Frustrated citizens have called for immediate measures to curb hoarding and profiteering and ensure the availability of safe and quality food items at controlled prices. They warn that if authorities do not intervene, low-income families will struggle to afford even basic necessities for Suhoor and Iftar. Residents urged the government and tehsil administration to take strict action against those selling harmful food products and enforce official price regulations to provide relief during the holy month.
