Administration with collaboration of police uprooted camp initiated by FATA Yoya Jirga(FLJ) in Landi Kotal on Saturday to collect signs of tribesmen to revise the decision of the merging of tribal regions into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It is to be mentioned here that the FLJ has filed writ petition 2019 against the merging in the Supreme Court of Pakistan has asked the appellate Court to form a larger bench to hear the case.
Chairman of FATA Loya Jirga Bismellah Khan Afridi said that their lawyer asked them to collect evidence to prove it in the court that the decision of merging had been taken out without approval of the majority of tribesmen.
For this purpose they started the drive to collect signs and to develop public consensus from across the ex-tribal region against the merging, he added.
He said that the hearing in the case was expected next week.
He went on that the administrations sabotaged their camp in Jamurd last day and in Landi Kotal on Saturday, which was a violation of their basic rights.
In an emergency press conference held in the District Press Club, Landi Kotal Bismellah Khan Afridi,Hazrat Ali Afridi and others categorically condemned the uprooting of their camp and said through unfair means their voice could not be suppressed.
They further added that their drive would continue and they would visit every shop and house of the tribesmen to seek his choice regarding revision of merging of ex-tribal agencies into KP.
In the name of merging, the tribal had been deceived, they added and said in spite of awarding advantages of merging, all incentives being enjoyed by various sections of tribal society in pre-era were withdrawn and that was injustice to them, they opined.
They expressed their reservation over the kachehri and police system and said it was against the norms and traditions of the tribe.
They demanded revision of the merging former FATA and restoration of the previous system that guaranteed prosperity of the tribesmen.
