Member of the Provincial Assembly, Sahibzada Muhammad Adnan Qadri, paid a detailed visit to an Afghan refugees transit camp where he inspected various sections and reviewed the facilities being provided to the refugees,officials said on Friday.
Assistant commissioner Landikotal, Inamullah Khan Wazir, tehsildar Taimur Afridi and focal person Maulana Muhammad Shoaib Qadri accompanied him during the visit.
During the visit, Adnan Qadri met with the officials, Afghan citizens waiting fir returning to their country and listened their concerns and challenges. Qadri assured them of immediate steps to address their issues.
Adnan Qadri directed strict directives to the concern officials and paid special attention to arrangements related to sanitation, healthcare, accommodation and other basic facilities. He also directed the relevant authorities to resolve the problems faced by the refugees on a priority basis, warning that any negligence or shortcomings would not be tolerated.
The transit camp officials briefed Adnan Qadri on the camp’s administrative matters and ongoing measures.
Speaking on the occasion, Sahibzada Muhammad Adnan Qadri said that serving Afghan refugees who have been displaced under difficult circumstances was a humanitarian and moral responsibility.
He added that the government was taking all possible steps for their welfare and instructed the concerned departments to further improve camp management and ensure prompt and effective measures to meet the refugees’ needs so that they do not face any difficulties.
