Advisor to CM KPK for Energy and Power, Tariq Mahmood, Visits PESCO Headquarters

Tariq Mahmood Sadozai, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) for Energy and Power, along with senior management from the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO), paid a visit to PESCO Headquarters.
The delegation was warmly received by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PESCO, Himayat Ullah, and senior management of PESCO.
The meeting, held to discuss the ongoing collaboration between PEDO and PESCO, focused on the signing of agreements for various energy projects that includes Shishi, Karora & Koto Hydropower Projects.
Tariq Sadozai highlighted the significance of these agreements, emphasizing that their implementation would lead to affordable electricity prices for PESCO consumers.
These projects, which are designed to enhance KPK’s energy infrastructure, will help ensure a more reliable and cost-effective supply of electricity to the region.
One of the key topics of discussion during the meeting was the issue of transmission lines. Both sides explored potential solutions to address the challenges in this area, with a shared commitment to improving the power transmission network across KPK.
CEO PESCO, Akhtar Hamid Khan, raised the issue of outstanding arrears to be paid by PEDO. In response, the PEDO management assured that they would clear the arrears within a specified timeline, underscoring their commitment to financial accountability.
Furthermore, PEDO sought assistance for several ongoing energy projects, and PESCO management expressed their willingness to extend the necessary support to ensure the successful execution of these initiatives.
Chairman PESCO, Himayat Ullah, emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two organizations, stating that PESCO and PEDO would work together with greater synergy to resolve existing issues and enhance the energy sector in KPK.
He reiterated the commitment of both parties to advancing the energy development goals of the province for the benefit of the people.
