PESHAWAR
Awami National Party’s provincial president Aimal Wali Khan has said that ANP would strongly resist the division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and creation of Hazara province.
Responding to a statement of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) senior vice-president Maryam Nawaz concerning creation of Hazara province, ANP termed the statement as unwise and imprudent.
Aimal Wali said that in the current situation of the country, such statements could harm the alliance, adding that the statement was issued for political point scoring.
“PML-N had made several attempts to divide Pakhtunkhwa in the past but did not succeed,” he added and said that KP is a small province and Punjab is the biggest province of the country. First, the promise of making South Punjab should be fulfilled.
Provincial president maintained that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and PML-N are on the same page on the division of KP, adding that Kalabagh Dam has also been a wish of some elements but could not be fulfilled.
The people of Hazara division are our brothers and sisters and we feel proud of them as they support our stance.
