The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have nabbed the “facilitators involved in the suicide attack” at tribal district Khyber`s Ali Masjid, said an officials handout.
The statement said that acting on tip-off, CTD has arrested Dilawar Khan and his two sons namely Zabita Khan and Arif Khan who had confessed to the involvement in the facilitating the tragic incident.
According to CTD officials, a suicide jacket, Kalashnikov, cartridges, and other incriminating items from the accused’s residence in Sultan Khel have also been recovered during an operation.
Qalam Shah, father of terrorist Kashif alias Abubakir, and his brother Sharafat are also among those arrested by CTD.
The suicide bomber was going to target the security agencies at Ghar Uba while moving, which was foiled by the bravery and timely action of the local police of Ali Masjid and Adnan Afridi Shaheed, said CTD.
CTD added that the compound from which the suicide attacker and his handler Abu Zar left for the purpose of the attack have been identified, while the suicide attacker’s clothes, hat and hair bearings were recovered from the same place.
It is pertinent to recall that the suicide blast on July 25 claimed the life of Additional SHO Adnan Afridi in the ali masjid area of Khyber district.
The investigation team unearthed that the vehicle in which the attacker and the handler came to Ghar Uba was traced and the vehicle booked for transportation purpose was also traced.
The driver was identified after conducting an investigation.
“All the characters involved in the Ali Masjid attack from the planning to the martyrdom of the mosque and additional SHO have been identified,” CTD claimed.
