The Inter-University Men’s Athletics Championship organized by the Directorate of Sports Peshawar University and in collaboration with HEC has begun at Peshawar University.
President of the Provincial Squash Association and Provincial Secretary Public Health Engineering Department Daud Khan was the chief guest who formally inaugurated the competition, accompanied by Vice Chancellor Peshawar University Professor Dr. Johar Ali. In this regard, Chief Organizer and Director Sports Peshawar University Bahr Karam, officials from various universities and more than three hundred players participated.
The players marched past. In his address, the special guest Daud Khan congratulated the Vice Chancellor, Director Sports and their entire team for organizing excellent competitions and said that it is inevitable to organize sports competitions for students on a continuous basis.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Johar Ali said that all resources are being utilized for the promotion and development of sports and the series of competitions will continue in the future.
Chief Organizer and Director Sports Peshawar University Bahr Karam while talking to the media said that more than 300 players and officials from more than 40 universities are participating in the three-day competition.
The Vice Chancellor of Peshawar University, Professor Dr. Johar Ali, has full support in organizing these competitions. We pay tribute to HEC for hosting the Athletics Championship in Peshawar. These competitions will be organized in the best manner in Peshawar. In the 100-meter race held yesterday, Abdullah Baloch of UCP won first, Wajid Ali won second, while Alam Ali of University of Punjab won third position. In the shot put competition, Sahibzada Kashif of University of Peshawar won first, Waizullah of UCP won second, and Shoaib Yousuf won third position.
