Amir Mazari, Muhammad Yahya and Muhammad Junaid continued their winning run by defeating their respective opponents in the ongoing Millat Tractors Junior National Tennis Championship 2026 at the Punjab Tennis Academy courts. The event is being organised by the Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA).
The boys’ U-18 category produced some of the most intense contests of the day. Amir Mazari of Aitchison College displayed clinical precision to defeat Omer Jawad 6-4, 6-1 and book his place in the semifinals, while Muhammad Yahya recorded a convincing 6-1, 6-4 victory over Hamza Ali Rizwan.
In the most grueling match of the session, Muhammad Junaid Khan staged a remarkable comeback against M Umar Ali. After losing the opening set 0-6, Junaid fought back strongly to claim the next two sets 6-4, 7-5. Ruhab Faisal also advanced by defeating Muhammad Muaz 6-4, 6-3.
The boys’ U-14 quarterfinals highlighted the technical skills of the younger players. Muhammad Junaid extended his winning streak with a 5-3, 4-2 victory over Ohad-e-Mustafa. Muhammad Ayan and Muhammad Muaz also progressed comfortably, with Ayan beating Behroze Memon 4-1, 4-1, while Muaz overcame M Faizan 4-1, 4-0. M Ibraheem Hussain Gill showed great resilience to edge past Aliyan Ali 4-0, 3-5, 4-1.
In the boys’ U-18 doubles quarterfinals, Muhammad Ahmad Afzal and Moazzam Babar outplayed Attique ur Rehman and Muteeb ur Rehman, while Bilal Awais and Rehaan Khan defeated Murtaza Hassan and Hassan Alam 6-1, 6-3.
In the girls’ U-14 category, Esha Rabi thrashed Shahreen Umer 4-0, 4-0, Khadija Khalil beat Shahnoor Umer 4-1, 4-0, while Shahnoor Umer defeated Wajeeha Fatima 5-4, 4-0. Eman Shahbaz also registered a straight-sets win over Zainah Abdullah 4-2, 4-0.
