PESHAWAR
Awami National Party (ANP) Central Spokesperson Zahid Khan has criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for being confused due to deprivation of power through a no-confidence vote of the opposition parties.
Condemning PTI workers protesting outside the homes of journalists in Islamabad, ANP spokesman Zahid Khan said that the PTI was in pursuit of journalism and journalists even when it was in government.
Journalists were being attacked while on the other hand journalism and media were being chained in the PTI government, he added.
ANP Central Spokesperson said that not a single character involved in attacks on journalists during Imran Khan’s government has been brought to light till date.
Zahid Khan said “Today his government is over but even today the PTI is sticking to its old ways. In the eyes of PTI, every journalist who stands with truth and justice instead of standing with PTI is a scapegoat”.
He further added that protesting and harassing journalists outside their homes was a matter of concern and reprehensible.
The cowardly acts of harassment of journalists underscore the uneasiness of the anti-media forces and they are the ones who deny freedom of the press and freedom of expression in the country.
Some of the senior journalists of our country have always represented the true picture of the society and never compromised over ethics and truth, he added.
Zahid Khan demanded the federal government to expose the culprits behind the conspiracies against the media and journalists and punish them.
