Aimal Wali Khan has issued a show-cause notice to former Mardan mayor Himayatullah Mayar for allegedly violating party discipline and constitutional principles.
According to party sources, Mayar has been asked to submit a reply within three days, clarifying whether he holds membership of any other organisation and, if so, whether such affiliation is in line with the party’s constitution.
The notice also expresses serious concern over reports of his association with an organisation allegedly aimed at dividing Pakhtuns along tribal lines, terming it contrary to the ideology and struggle of Bacha Khan.
The party reiterated that it has consistently opposed tribal divisions and has worked for the unity, awareness and development of the Pakhtun nation, warning that deviation from its ideology by any member would not be tolerated.
It further warned that failure to provide a satisfactory explanation within the stipulated time would result in strict disciplinary action in accordance with the party constitution.
