Apex Committee reviews law, order situation

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Apex Committee on Saturday reviewed the overall law and order situation and discussed measures to materialise the National Action Plan in letter and spirit.
An official handout said the meeting of the apex committee was held under the chairmanship of Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra at the Governor’s House here. It said that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Corps Commander Lt-Gen Hidayatur Rehman, Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani, Frontier Constabulary Commandant Liaqat Ali Khan and others attended the meeting.
The situation emerged in the wake of Mardan and Warsak terrorism attacks came under consideration and it was observed that security had been beefed up. The participants vowed that the facilitator of heinous crimes would be taken to task and would be brought to justice.
The security along China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route also came under discussion and it was told that special patrol unit would be established on the patron of Gilgit-Baltistan Police.
Earlier, the meeting also offered fateha for the eternal peace of the departed souls killed in the terrorist attack in Mardan district courts and Christian Colony near Warsak Dam.
