Chief Justice (CJ) Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Athar Minallah has remarked we can see one question only basically that “ are social media rules in any way not in conflict with articles 19 and 19-A of the constitution.

Single bench of IHC led by CJ Athar Minallah heard all the petitions against social media rules by clubbing them Thursday.

The court directed the amicus Curiae to file brief about notified social media rules.

Usman Warraich advocate told the court the digital experts were also appointed as amicus curiae in this case by the court . Opinion of digital experts be sought as well in this respect. Some questions have also been prepared in this regard.

As to why this case be not sent to some other bench in view of norms of transparency.

The lawyers said “ our opinion is entirely different about this court. They opposed to refer this case to some other bench.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till February 03.
