Asif Khan Mehsud named as Chairman PRCS tribal districts

PESHAWAR: The fifth annual meeting of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society for tribal districts was held under the chairmanship of Acting Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani at Governor House Peshawar on Monday. The meeting approved Asif Khan Mehsud as Chairman PRCS tribal districts for the next 3 years 2023-25. The meeting also approved the board members of PRCS merged districts for the next two years. During the meeting, Chairman Asif Khan Mehsud presented the three year report of Red Crescent Pakistan for Integrated Districts. The Acting Governor appreciated the excellent services of Red Crescent Pakistan in the tribal districts. He informed the meeting that during the Corona epidemic, Red Crescent volunteers screened more than 300,000 people and more than 3 million was given to the affected families during the Corona epidemic. Hospitals were provided with PPAs, masks and sanitizers, while hygiene kits and food items were distributed to the general public. The meeting was informed that more than 20,000 Afghan refugees and civilians living in the tribal districts have also been vaccinated against coronavirus. The Pakistan Red Crescent is running eight basic health centers in the tribal districts. Acting Governor Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani said that the Pakistan Red Crescent is working for the welfare of the people in the tribal districts and the government should extend all possible cooperation to the Pakistan Red Crescent.
