Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad has confirmed the bail of PTI leaders Raja Basharat, Maj (Retd) Tahir Sadiq and Umar Sultan in the cases registered against them in police station Ramna Islamabad under terrorism clauses.
Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra has remarked when the man becomes proclaimed offender then the basic rights remain no more.
The judge Tahir Abbas while reprimanding the lawyers on lack of preparation in the case remarked you are just playing with your clients . You are taking things as routine matter. Whosoever appears in my court he comes here prepared.
He gave these remarks during hearing of bail before arrest plea here Thursday.
Raja Basharat, Tahir Sadiq and Umar Sultan appeared in the court along with their counsels while prosecutor Raja Anwar too appeared in the court. The counsel for the petitioner told the court when the bail plea was rejected the situation was different at that time.
Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra while addressing counsel remarked he should tell the court about situation in writing. Who will write.
Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra remarked if there is no reason for dismissal of first bail plea then the bail will not be granted. When man becomes proclaimed offender then the rights stand abolished. You have come for extra ordinary relief. Present the full case with preparation.
The counsel for the petitioner said give us some time. We attach new certificate with the application.
Judge Tahir Abbas remarked you are just playing with your client. You are taking the things as routine matter . Whosoever appears in my court he comes here with preparation.
The counsel Umar Sultan took the plea it is matter of shame for us.
Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra remarked it will be for you but humiliation will not be for me. Come here with preparations.
Both the sides completed their arguments on the bail before arrest pleas.
The court reserved judgment on bail pleas.
The court reprimanded the lawyers for not attaching certificate with bail pleas.
After hearing of the case the court confirmed the bail of Raja Basharat, Maj (Retd) Tahir Sadiq and Umar Sultan on previous surety bonds.
It is pertinent to mention here that confirmation of bail or endorsement of bail means that bail has been granted to them on permanent basis in this case and they cannot be arrested in this case now. However prosecution can challenge this decision. After this the court if wills can reject the bail.
