ISLAMABAD
Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb on Thursday felicitated the nation on the 79th Independence Day, saying Pakistan was moving forward with renewed confidence, with a focus on growth, investment, exports and job creation.
In his message on the occasion, the minister congratulated Pakistanis at home and abroad and said the country’s macroeconomic stability had taken hold, while reforms had moved from intent to implementation.
He said strengthening fiscal and external fundamentals was contributing to rising economic and investor confidence, adding that Pakistan was now entering the next phase of its economic journey with a focus on accelerating growth, attracting investment, expanding exports, creating jobs and opening greater opportunities for the people.
Aurangzeb emphasized that the people were Pakistan’s greatest strength and most important investment. Empowering youth, women, entrepreneurs, farmers, workers, freelancers, innovators and businesses through skills and opportunities, he added, would drive the country’s future.
He said the government’s goal was to turn stability into growth, reforms into opportunities and economic progress into better lives for the people.
“There is much more to accomplish, but the direction is clear,” he said, stressing that continuity, collective effort and confidence in Pakistan’s potential would help transform the country’s present progress into future prosperity.
The finance minister also paid tribute to the vision and sacrifices of the country’s forefathers and reaffirmed the commitment to building a stronger, more prosperous and inclusive Pakistan.
