Presented through humor and satire, the play not only entertained the audience but also offered social commentary, spreading joy amid today’s chaotic times.
The second performance, the comedy “Ulta Shulta,” received an equally enthusiastic response from the audience. The play was directed by Rizwan Mirza and written by H. Iqbal, featuring Ashraf Chiragh, Imran Nawaz, Shanzy, Sitara Zaidi, and Ayesha Jibran.
The story revolves around a wealthy family and conveys multiple social messages through humor and satire. The plot centers on a businessman who wishes to marry his daughter to his sister’s son, who lives abroad, while the sister hopes to arrange the marriage of one of her sons with her brother’s child.
One son is obsessed with Charlie Chaplin, while the other dreams of becoming a cricketer and proudly calls himself a superstar. The girl insists on first seeing whether life with such a “superstar” would be feasible before agreeing to marriage.
The storyline takes an interesting turn when the businessman’s friend’s son leaves home in anger and starts working as a driver at the sister’s house. During this time, he falls in love with her daughter, only to later discover that he is actually the son of the businessman’s close friend.
