Balloting Held for Hawksbay Plots for New Karachi Press Club Members, 639 Members Included

KARACHI: A balloting ceremony for plots in the Hawksbay Scheme for new members of the Karachi Press Club (KPC) was held at the Karachi Press Club on Saturday. Provincial Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani, Karachi Press Club President Fazil Jamili, Secretary Aslam Khan, Director General LDA and a large number of journalists attended the ceremony. Addressing the ceremony, Provincial Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that the Sindh government was working under the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for service to the people and welfare of all. He said the provision of plots to new members of the Karachi Press Club was a welcome initiative and an important commitment was being fulfilled today. He said that under the third phase of Shahrah-e-Bhutto, the Hawksbay Scheme would be connected with Shahrah-e-Bhutto, while encroachments were also being removed from the existing roads in Hawksbay, which would make traffic movement easier. Nasir Hussain Shah said work was also underway to provide bank loan facilities on easy instalments for construction on the plots. He congratulated all Karachi Press Club members on the plots and said that, in line with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision, the Sindh government was taking measures for the development and service of the city. Karachi Press Club President Fazil Jamili, in his address, said that it was a day of fulfilment of a major commitment. He expressed gratitude to Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Provincial Minister for Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah and Minister Saeed Ghani for their cooperation in the provision of plots. He said that considerable work had also been carried out on the plots issue during the tenures of former Secretary Rizwan Bhatti and former President Saeed Sarbazi. He said that due to all these efforts, a long-standing commitment was now being fulfilled. He congratulated all the members receiving plots and thanked the provincial government for its cooperation. Karachi Press Club Secretary Aslam Khan thanked Provincial Minister Nasir Hussain Shah and Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani and said that all KPC council members would become plot holders after the process. He said that whenever Nasir Hussain Shah and Saeed Ghani were approached for time during the struggle for acquiring the plots, they extended full cooperation and gave them time. He said the Karachi Press Club was committed to ensuring that the balloting process remained completely transparent and was conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations. Aslam Khan said 639 Karachi Press Club members were included in the balloting for Hawksbay plots. He termed it an important development in the history of the Karachi Press Club with regard to the welfare of its members. A large number of journalists attended the ceremony, while an atmosphere of happiness prevailed among Karachi Press Club members on the occasion of the balloting.
