Bara jirga, DPO discuss social, security issues

A jirga comprising tribal elders from Bara met District Police Officer (DPO) Khyber Waqar Ahmed in his office to discuss key social and security issues facing the area.
According to a statement, during the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the overall law and order situation, eradication of drug abuse, use of unregistered motorcycles, and prevention of aerial firing at weddings and other social events.
The jirga elders assured the police of their full cooperation in maintaining lasting peace and promoting social reforms.
They emphasized that effective elimination of social evils is only possible through close coordination and mutual cooperation between the community and law enforcement agencies.
It was mutually agreed that disputes in the area would be resolved through dialogue, negotiation, and the traditional jirga system to promote harmony and avoid conflict.
Addressing the jirga, DPO Waqar Ahmed said that the role of local elders and community leaders is crucial in curbing social evils. He stressed that joint efforts by the police and the public are essential to effectively tackle drug abuse, aerial firing, and other illegal activities.
He reiterated that the police would continue to take all possible measures to protect the lives and property of citizens and ensure the rule of law in the district.
