Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said baseless propaganda was launched about vision of Imran Khan.
Government will provide every possible treatment facility to Imran Khan, he said this while talking to media men here in Lahore Tuesday.
Government believes in transparency. he said adding therefore, it was said to give the name of his personal doctor if need be so that process of medical check up could be made more clear.
He went on to say the process of contacts with opposition did not start after a letter but government was in contact with the opposition prior to writing letter by Mehmood Khan Achakzai.
He held government believes in serious talks and resolution of matters.
He said government had made it clear from the very beginning be he any prisoner, full medical treatment facility be provided to him as per law and constitution.
This principle was adopted in the matter of PTI founder.
He said name of a non political doctor was sought by government. Later it was said representative of family be taken along too. Government proposed name of Dr Qasim Zaman. Later demand came that Imran Khan be shifted to hospital for one week. Government took the plea this will be done on the recommendations of doctors. No matter it is for one week or two weeks.
Baseless propaganda was launched on the matter of eyes. The doctors of Imran Khan said themselves best medical facilities are being provided to him. He claimed all parties agree on certain matters some time. But Aleema Khan vetoes it.
He said some anchors said this Imran Khan has lost vision of one full eye which runs contrary to fact.
He stressed that attempt was made to create negative impression about vision. If need be then the journalists can be shown all the facilities by taking them to jail to dispel all doubts. If they will so they can take media representatives with them so that the matter becomes clear once for all.
A non political eye specialist was proposed for medical check up of Imran Khan and PTI leaders were asked to give name of eye specialist of their confidence. Family member was allowed to join process of medical check up by doctors. PTI founder remained in hospital for one and half hour after check up.
He said opposition leader national assembly and Senate and barrister Gohar ALi Khan were invited for meeting with Imran Khan. Opposition leaders met him for one and half hour in PIMS. Doctors gave briefing in details during it for 45 minutes. Medical report was also shared.
Bringing PTI founder to hospital was aimed at providing eye treatment. Government and institutions don’t want to give it political color.
