BISP Chairperson vows to protect women’s right

Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), visited the Tehsil Office in Peshawar here on Thursday to review arrangements and facilities for deserving women beneficiaries.
Rubina Khalid emphasized that any misbehavior or complaints against women beneficiaries would not be tolerated.
She interacted with beneficiaries, listened to their problems, and guided staff to address their concerns.
The BISP Chairperson highlighted the program’s history, saying it was founded by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto in exile in Dubai and implemented by President Asif Ali Zardari in 2008.
She praised transparency initiatives, including BISP payment centers and bank accounts for deserving women.
Rubina Khalid stressed the importance of skills and technical education for women’s economic independence and societal development.
She urged the media to raise awareness about the program’s benefits and warned beneficiaries against fraud.
