Caretaker PM arrives in Tashkent to participate in ECO Summit

TASHKENT
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has reached Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on an official visit to participate in the 16th Summit of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Nigmatovich Aripov warmly welcomed Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar at Tashkent International Airport. Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and Caretaker Commerce Minister Gohar Ejaz are also accompanying the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister will also engage in bilateral discussions with the leadership of Uzbekistan and other participating leaders.
At the summit, the prime minister will reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to ECO Vision 2025 and the promotion of regional cooperation in the areas of trade, transport, connectivity, energy, tourism and economic growth and productivity.
On the sidelines of the summit, he will also engage in bilateral discussions with the leadership of Uzbekistan and other participating leaders. As a founding member of ECO, Pakistan remains committed to the goals of connectivity and mutual prosperity of the ECO region, according to a Foreign Office statement.
