Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed on Thursday chaired an important meeting at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines to review law and order, security arrangements and traffic management plans for Ramazan.
The meeting was attended by Chief Traffic Officer Dr Zahidullah, SSP Operations Farhan Khan, SSP Investigation Ayesha Gul, SSP Coordination Khalid Khan, SP Headquarters Ali Gauhar Khan, divisional SPs and SDPOs.
The CCPO directed officials to conduct a fresh security audit of sensitive installations and places of worship across the district to ensure foolproof security during the holy month.
He emphasised increasing police patrols during Iftar, Taraweeh and Sehri, deploying additional women police personnel in commercial centres and ensuring regular foot patrols.
He also ordered expansion of search and strike operations, strengthening of snap checking and establishment of special checkpoints.
Officials were instructed to compile data of suspicious individuals, including tenants, and to further tighten checking at all entry and exit points of the city.
Dr Ahmed directed strict implementation of a zero-tolerance policy against aerial firing and continuation of the crackdown on display of arms and illegal weapons.
He said a special Ramazan security plan was in its final stages under which additional personnel would be deployed in busy areas and densely populated markets.
Special police mobile teams would also be formed, while armoured vehicles, Ababeel Squad, City Patrol Force and additional Special Riders squads would patrol sensitive locations round the clock.
