CHITRAL
The 2nd Chitral Expo and Economic Development Conference 2025 was successfully held on October 25 and 26 in Chitral, aiming to explore and promote new avenues for economic growth and investment in the region.
The two-day event was organized under the auspices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade (KP-BOIT) in collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and the Chitral Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), a handout said.
The conference and exhibition focused on showcasing trade and investment opportunities in Chitral and the northern districts of KP.
It brought together representatives from various government departments, investors, business leaders, financial institutions, economists, and social organizations.
Exhibitors from Chitral and Peshawar displayed products from a wide range of sectors, including tourism, agriculture, handicrafts, food, minerals, and services, providing a valuable platform for promotion and marketing.
Addressing the participants, Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Rao Hashim Azeem, who was the chief guest, said that Chitral is endowed with abundant natural resources and holds immense potential in tourism, energy, minerals, and agriculture.
He added that investment in these sectors would not only create employment opportunities for local communities but also contribute to the province’s overall economic growth.
Iqbal Sarwar, Director Business Facilitation KP-BOIT, stated that the provincial government is committed to developing the northern districts through investor-friendly policies.
He said the Chitral Economic Development Conference serves as an effective platform to introduce investors to the region’s vast economic potential.
CCCI President Mehboob Azam, in his welcome remarks, appreciated the KP Government’s efforts to promote economic activities in Chitral.
Representatives from other business associations also lauded KP-BOIT’s role in bringing together diverse stakeholders to share experiences and strengthen business linkages.
