Citizens welcomed the decision of the Punjab government to establish Anti-Drone Units in every district,stating that the move will significantly improve public security and similarly protect citizens’ privacy.
According to the government ‘s plan,the Anti-Drone Units will operate under the supervision of the District Police Officer (DPO) and will monitor unauthorized drone activity in their respective districts.
Talking to media,different citizens appreciated the initiative and expressed hope that the new system would help control the misuse of drones.
Amjad Suleman said that the growing trend of flying drones without any regulation had been causing serious concerns among residents.
“Many people were flying drones without seeking permission,which not only created security risks but also compromised the privacy of families.The establishment of Anti-Drone Units will help regulate this activity and discourage irresponsible behavior,”he said.
Similarly,Asim,another citizen said that the government’s decision was timely and necessary in view of modern security challenges.
“With proper surveillance and monitoring by trained officials,the misuse of drones will be controlled and people will feel more secure in their homes and neighborhoods,”he added.
Another citizen,Riaz Lodhi also praised the initiative and observed, technological advancements require equally strong regulatory mechanisms.
“Drones can be useful tools,but when used irresponsibly they can create fear and violate people’s privacy.The new Anti-Drone Units will ensure that such elements are discouraged,”he said.
Malik Arif also termed the decision a positive step for maintaining law and order.He said that strict monitoring of drone activities would help authorities prevent potential security threats and ensure that the technology was used only for legitimate purposes.
The citizens however collectively expressed confidence that with proper implementation and supervision under the DPO,the Anti-Drone Units would strengthen security arrangements and safeguard the privacy of the public.
