Fifteen days long cleanness campaign began in Bara Bazaar on Friday.
On the direction of the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, district administration with assistance of Tehsil Municipal Authority (TMA) Bara initiated the drive.
In this connection an opening ceremony was held on the main highway in Bara Bazaar that was attended by Tehsil Chairman, Bara Mufti Kafeel as chief guest besides Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Bara Fazal Subhan, tribal elders and officials.
Addressingon the occasion Mufti Kafeel said that a clean environment was the guarantee of a healthy society.
The cleanliness drive is not an official formality but it is the duty of every single citizen to play his due role to keep his surroundings clean and healthy, he opined.
He cautioned the local shopkeepers and traders that they would fine on throwing waste and garbage on the road during the campaign.
TMO Fazal Subhan, Bara said that daily TMA workers will be deployed in the Bazaar in two shifts to keep streets and roads clean.
