Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has said that Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is living up to the expectations of the party’s founding chairman. Speaking to the media, Barrister Saif stated that the founder of PTI is currently in good health.
He said that Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has so far met the expectations of the founding chairman, and expressed hope that he would continue to follow his vision. He added that terrorism remains the most critical issue facing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the moment.
Barrister Saif stressed that the provincial government must assert its rights from the federation. He said that forming the cabinet is the Chief Minister’s prerogative, and he may include whomever he wishes. He clarified that he has no desire for any government position and has always fulfilled the responsibilities assigned to him by the PTI founder.
He maintained that the province has historically been targeted by the federal government. Commenting on political speculation, Barrister Saif said that the imposition of Governor’s Rule appears to be an emergency-like measure and is unnecessary at this time. He added that peace in KP is closely tied to stability in Afghanistan, noting that “if there is peace there, there will be peace here as well.”
