Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi is making all-out efforts to meet the incarcerated PTI founding chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan. He has formally written to the Islamabad High Court through the Advocate General’s Office, seeking an attested copy of the court order permitting the meeting.
A statement issued by the CM House here on Wednesday, in his letter, the Chief Minister noted that the Islamabad High Court had already directed the jail authorities to allow the meeting; however, despite the clear court order, the prison administration has refused him access.
He further stated that a formal request for an attested copy of the court order had already been submitted, but no copy has been provided so far. Afridi emphasized that the attested order is crucial for filing a contempt of court petition against those responsible for defying the High Court’s directives.
The letter highlighted the provincial government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring full compliance with judicial orders. “To advance the case in accordance with law, the attested copy of the order is urgently required,” it stated.
The Chief Minister added that despite repeated follow-ups, no attested copy of the court’s order has been received to date.
