CM Naqvi okays package for families of martyred govt officers, employees

On the pattern of ‘Police Shuhada Package’, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Monday approved a financial package for the family members of martyred officers and other employees of government departments.
The CM gave the approval while chairing the 13th meeting of the Cabinet’s Standing Committee on Finance and Development in Lahore. He said that the package would also cover injured government employees.
Cases of the family members of martyred excise inspector Muhammad Rafi and seriously injured inspector Sanaullah Bhatti were considered at the meeting for the package. In this regard, the chief minister ordered the constitution of a committee, to be headed by the additional chief secretary, which would prepare recommendations.
It is worth-reminding here that Rafi, whose wife is a cancer patient, was martyred while Bhatti was injured when they were fired at by narcotics smugglers in Rahim Yar Khan.
Also on Monday, the chief minister took notice of the rape of a three-year-old girl at Tiwana Park, a suburban area of Sargodha, and ordered the RPO to submit a report to him.
The CM said that the culprit deserved exemplary punishment. He also ordered the provision of best medical facilities to the child. He said he would go to Sargodha in the evening to meet the victim’s family.
