Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi on Saturday visited the family of five-year-old Ayat Noor, who was allegedly sexually assaulted before being killed, and offered condolences to her family.
The chief minister expressed sympathy with the bereaved family and offered Fateha. He assured the family that the provincial government would stand by them and ensure justice.
Mr Afridi said those responsible for the incident would be given severe punishment and made an example of. He directed that the investigation be conducted without any negligence or lapse, saying no compromise would be made in the case.
“The affected family will not be left alone and every possible assistance will be provided to them,” the chief minister said, adding that timely justice would be ensured.
He also said the provincial government would take steps to make the Child Protection Bill more effective and strengthen its provisions to better protect children.
The chief minister reiterated that the government was committed to ensuring justice for the family and bringing those involved in the crime to account.
