President Mamnoon Hussain has made it clear that construing Pakistan desire for peace its weakness will be dangerous.
“Construing Pakistan desire for peace as weakness will be dangerous. Avoiding meddling in others affairs, expansionism and aggression is must for regional peace and stability”, he said this while addressing the Pakistan Day event at Parade Ground in the federal capital on Friday.
Condemning Indian aggression on Loc and working boundary he reiterated Pakistan stance for granting right to self -determination to people of Kashmir in line with UN resolutions.
President said journey of democracy is continuing in the country. All the institutions are working within their constitutional parameters. However it is essential that the reservations of some segments be alleviated.
There is no day like March 23 in our history, he said. This superb parade is realization of our dreams. Our forefathers made decision about their future on March 23, 1940.Our forefathers on this day resolved to make such a modern, robust and democratic country wherein no one could do injustice with any one and no one could be exploited.
He went on to say “we pay rich tributes to our martyrs and Ghazis.
At the beginning of his speech, the president welcomed Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena as the guest of honour, who has flown to Pakistan especially for the occasion. He said that Pakistani nation and our armed forces faced the challenge with valor and determination through military operations, including Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasaad. The nation holds the struggle of Jawans in high esteem.
In recognition of the services rendered by Jawans, I announce new medal “ Tamgha-e-Azam for armed forces and law enforcement agencies. We are committed to move forward under the principle of peaceful co-existence, he held.
He said that the irresponsible attitude of the neighboring country has put the regional peace at stake. Freedom movement cannot be muzzled by dint of force. Kashmiris should be give right to self determination under as per UN resolutions, he stressed.
He stated “ our democratic institutions are functional and are working within the ambit of constitution. Completing their tenure by the elected democratic governments is a sources of satisfaction.
He underscored that pledge was made to make a strong Islamic Republic country on March 23.
Pakistan army has rendered meritorious services in the world under the auspices of UN. Peace has been restored in the country due to unprecedented sacrifices of Pakistan army, he added.
