A surge in serious criminal activities has been witnessed in Lakki Marwat district where a cop was martyred and principal of a private school kidnapped by unknown armed assailants, police informed on Sunday.
In the first incident within the limits of Dadiwala Police Station in village Kachi Kamar, unidentified assailants opened fire and critically injured a police official, Irfanullah. He was shifted to Naurang Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Irfanullah was serving in the Peshawar Police.
In the other incident, a private school principal was kidnapped near Thori Bazaar within the jurisdiction of Tajori Police Station. Police said unidentified armed men abducted the school principal, Barkatullah at gunpoint. The kidnappers were reportedly traveling in a fielder car and also took the principal’s motorcycle along with them.
