The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Tahir Khan on Wednesday distributed cash rewards and commending certificates among the cops who had foiled a terror bid in the provincial capital.
The cops of the Hayatabad Police Station had recovered a bomb weighing up to 15 kilogram in the smuggled goods Karkhano market and defused it on January 9 last.
The shopkeepers had spotted a suspicious fruit cart parked near the G.P plaza in Karkhano market and had informed the police.
The police had then recovered an explosive packed gas cylinder and defused it, averting a looming tragedy.
The CCPO had later announced cash price and commending certificates for the cops participated in the operation and foiling the terror bid.
The CCPO said that the cops rendered a great service to the people by putting their lives in danger and prevented a human tragedy.
“The cops are an example for others to follow,” he added.
