Counseling session held in Landi Kotal

In connection of ten years development scheme to be initiated in the merged tribal districts, a consultative moot was held here in jirga hall, Landi Kotal on Friday.
The gathering was organized by the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and beside provincial minister C&W Akbar Ayab Khan, representatives of numerous departments of the provincial departments, administration officials, tribal elders, local youths, journalists and member of civil society participated in the meeting.
Addressing on the occasion Malik Darya Khan,Malik Masel Khan,Qazi Fazullah,Qari Nazeem Gul,Adnan Qadri and others said that since creation of Pakistan, the area had been left on the mercy of God and had been denied of all basic rights and that was the reason that majority of residents of merged districts were serving their life below the poverty line.
The representatives of local people forwarded number of suggestions like improvement in education,health,provision of potable water, availability of sports facilties,electricity,construction of small dams etc. and expected that if sincerely their proposals were endorsed and executes in spirit and letter, ex-Fata would be a developed one in the next decade.
They also appreciated the initiative of the Prime Minister Imran Khan to engage them in consultative process regarding development projects in their areas and said for the first time they had asked how to utilize development funds in their localities.

The visiting officials assured the tribal that on the direction of Prime Minister Rs.100 billion annually for ten years would be spent in the merged districts and all development schemes would be set up with approval of tribesmen.
