May 9 incident
ISLAMABAD: District and Sessions Court Islamabad has adjourned the hearing of two cases related to May 9 incident against PTI founder, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and others till April 30. Judicial magistrate Shabbir Bhatti heard the cases in District and Sessions Courts Islamabad Saturday. Lawyer Sardar Masroof appeared in the court on behalf of PTI founder and Shah Mehmood Qureshi. The court adjourned the hearing till April 30. It is pertinent to mention here two cases are registered against PTI founder and others in police station Tarnol. PTI had held country wide protest over arrest of PTI founder from the premises of IHC on May 9 last year in Al-Qadir Trust case. During this protest PML-N office located in Model town Lahore was set ablaze and military. civilians and private installations were torched. Enormous loss was caused to government and public properties. At least 8 persons were killed and 290 were injured during this protest. Later 1900 people were arrested due to their involvement in clash with the law enforcement agencies, siege and arson incidents. Cases were also registered against PTI founder and party leaders and workers. Online
