Halting Sheikh Rashid from Umrah
RAWALPINDI: The court while issuing notice to federal government on halting former federal minister Sheikh Rashid from performance of Umrah has summoned DG FIA and DG Passport. The court admitted for hearing contempt of court plea of Sheikh Rashid Ahmad on stopping him from going to Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah. The court while issuing notice to federal government, DG FIA and DG Passport has summoned them along with replies on November 18. During the hearing of the case Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan remarked this contempt of court trial will run and whosoever is found guilty will be awarded punishment.
The court inquired this matter related to single bench and how it was fixed before division bench.
The court remarked the matter be fixed before single bench again.
Sheikh Rashid remained present in the court room.
The counsel of former federal minister took the plea court had given clear order his client be allowed to go to Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah. Despite it FIA stopped him on airport which is sheer violation of court’s orders and is contempt of court.
The court while issuing notice to respondents fixed next hearing of the case on November 18.
