City Traffic Police Peshawar launched a major enforcement operation on April 18, 2026, targeting encroachments, illegal transport stands, and violations of no-parking zones across the city, resulting in dozens of arrests and multiple vehicle seizures.
According to officials, the operation was carried out on the directives of Chief Traffic Officer Dr. Zahidullah after repeated warnings to encroachers went unheeded. Traffic police teams conducted raids in various sectors of Peshawar, arresting 49 individuals and seizing two trucks loaded with goods.
During the crackdown, 23 Suzuki vehicle owners were booked for establishing illegal stands along Circular Road and Charsadda Road. Additionally, 65 motorcyclists were fined and had their vehicles impounded for violating no-parking regulations in multiple zones within the Cantt sector.
Dr. Zahidullah emphasized that illegal encroachments create serious challenges for commuters and transporters, warning that strict legal action will continue against violators. He urged citizens to use designated parking areas, adding that vehicles found in no-parking zones will be moved to terminals.
The traffic police reiterated their commitment to maintaining road discipline and ensuring smooth traffic flow throughout the city.
