Craftmanship of KP women important for province identity: Governor

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, on Thursday emphasized the importance of introducing the craftsmanship of women of this province on an international level to ensure their economic empowerment.
Speaking at a meeting with a delegation from the Handicraft Association, including Chairperson Maryam Iqbal and Mahira Imad, the Governor highlighted the necessity of global exposure for these crafts.
Governor Kundi announced that a handicraft exhibition is scheduled to take place in Tajikistan in November.
He directed the Chambers of Commerce to ensure representation for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s women at the event.
He also stressed the need for providing digital skills and market exposure to women involved in handicrafts to ensure their efforts are rewarded.
The Governor noted that promoting the soft image of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa globally is crucial for the province’s development and prosperity. He praised the delegation’s efforts and accepted an invitation to attend an awards ceremony hosted by the association.
The delegation, in turn, commended the Governor for his initiatives and commitment to women’s empowerment. Meanwhile, the Governor Faisal Karim Kundi underscored the potential of promoting tourism and trade in district Mohmand and surrounding areas as a means to not only alleviate poverty but also showcase the province’s exemplary image to the world. He said this during a meeting with a delegation led by Ikramuddin, Provincial President of Tehreek-e-Jawan Pakistan Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Vice President of Mohmand Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Governor Kundi commended the province’s talented youth, noting that their love for homeland is inherent and that they are invaluable assets to the nation. He expressed his commitment to focusing on youth engagement, enhancing the province’s cultural heritage, and promoting sports and extracurricular activities within educational institutions. The Governor also stressed the necessity of maintaining peace to attract global attention to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s captivating tourist spots.
I believe that increased tourism could play a crucial role in poverty alleviation, said Governor Kundi. The delegation members praised the Governor’s vision for the province’s development and assured their full support for his mission. Similarly, in another meeting of Tajirane City led by Zafar Khattak congratulated Faisal Karim Kundi for assuming charge as Governor.
They highlighted problems faced by the traders in Peshawar city especially printing press including tax, electricity, sui gas and others.
The Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that it is need of the hour to promote trade, business and agriculture of the country. He said that electricity is the problem of whole province and assured to discuss their electricity problem with Pesco chief. He assured to fully use his powers and will discuss tax and other problems with federal. He said that we should restore the name of past famous Peshawar.
He said that KP is producing electricity, gas, water but unfortunately it’s people have been neglecting.
The Governor said that I have raised these problems with prime minister.
He said that Indus Highway restoration is provincial matter and will discuss with chief secretary.
He said borders opening and trade with Afghanistan will promote our business.
He said that rescue 1122 facility for traders will also be discussed with commissioner Peshawar to reach fire spot as soon as possible.
The Governor recalled that 24 universities are without VCs and there is no domestic cricket for the last 15 years.
Similarly, Alamzaib Khan Advocate, ex candidate NA-7 Dir lower also discussed problems related to Chakdara to Uper Dir NHA road, Wapda, Gas, Nadra and University of Malakand with the Governor.
The Governor resolved some problems on the spot and also assured to resolve the remaining problems on priority basis.
