Pakistani national cricket team management and selection committee are worried about the recent form of fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi. According to media reports, if Pakistan loses the second Test against Australia in Melbourne, it is possible that Shaheen Shah Afridi will be rested in the Sydney Test at the beginning of the new year so that he can take part in the T20 series against New Zealand fresh.
Shaheen Afridi scored 96 runs in 27 overs in the first innings of the Perth Test and 76 runs in 18.2 overs in the second innings. It is also proposed to form an opening pair of Saeem Ayub and Mohammad Rizwan in the T20 team. The third Test in Sydney will start from February 3 while the first T20 International in New Zealand will be played on January 12.
