66 cases of usury in 60 days in 79 arrested

PESHAWAR: The ratio of crimes has been decreased in the first two months of 2017 as compare to that of 2016 for the same period of time.
Documents available with this correspondent on Monday showed a significant decrease in crimes ration in first two months of 2017.
The 2016 reported a total of 74 murder, 104 attempted murder, 11 cases of kidnapping for ransom, five rape, seven assault on police, dacoity 8, robberies 15, burglary 14, carjacking 39, ordinary theft 39, motorcycle lifting and snatching 39 while 28 fatal and another 97 non-fatal road accidents.
Likewise, the police booked 23 persons under 382 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) while arrested another 527 under 279-PPC and arrested 766 persons for possessing unauthorized weapons and another 1,161 in miscellaneous crimes.
While the first two months of 2017 reported a total of 63 murder, 82 attempted murder, 10 cases of kidnapping for ransom, five rape as many assault on police, five dacoities, 12 robberies, 13 burglary, 26 carjacking, ordinary theft 33, motorcycle lifting and snatching 17 while 18 fatal and another 62 non-fatal road accidents incidents.
Similarly, the police booked seven persons under 382-PPC and arrested another 541 under 279-PPC while arrested 805 persons for possessing illegal arms and 1295 persons were arrested in miscellaneous cases.
It said that a total of 7315 cases of crimes had been reported in first two months of 2016 while the number for the same period in 2017 was stood at 7800 to date.
A part from this, a total of 66 cases of usury has been reported in the first 60 days of 2017 in which 79 accused had been arrested.
