Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Qamar Hayat Khan visited University Road to review management of traffic flow here on Sunday. SP Cantt Inayat Ali, DSP Town Hazratullah and other traffic officials were also with him on the occasion. Qamar Hayat Khan reviewed the flow of traffic and issued necessary instructions to the traffic officials.
He reviewed the improvements resulting from the operations against the encroaching mafia and also praised the performance of the traffic officers and wardens for clearing the road for all types of traffic. CTO Peshawar issued instructions to quarters concerned toensure road clearance for all types of traffic and speed up operations against the encroachment mafia for better management of traffic in the provincial metropolis.
He said that the traffic police should clear the foot-paths from the encroaching so that the pedestrians do not face any kind of difficulties. Traffic chief directed the authorities to take strict action against the violators of the No-Parking zones and to ensure parking in the plazas in all cases so that citizens do not park their vehicles on the side. Qamar Hayat Khan has said that all capabilities should be used to improve the flow of traffic uninterruptedly and no negligence will be tolerated in this regard.
Continuing the awareness for the elimination of laws and encroachments as better results are coming, he added and said that the business community should cooperate with the traffic police to eliminate encroachments from the city and ensure smooth flow of traffic.
